slow day yesterday as my longshots were all up the track and sunday times ended the day with the mild 3-1 upset win. let's try to bring home some prices today.
r2: excessively nice. don't like backing firsters at a short price, but this may be the time to play against likely odds on bella banissa, who is coming out of two stakes races and drops into this maiden special. eleventh street also merits a look and may be playable at anything near her ridiculous 10/1 morning line, but let's stick with excessively nice for the play here.
r4: cozzen vinny. beware this palanco returnee and this one is bred up and down for the lawn and has trained very well coming into this race. journey's quesst is bred to excel on the weeds, but it's tough to win first out and dollase isn't exactly known for sending out his horses ready to fire in their debuts. minister blair is fast becoming a trial maiden and is a play against.
r5: taylor's series. spaws is red hot and this one returns at the same level as when last seen at hollywood in may. should get a good trip behind the pace and anything north of 3/1 is a play for me.
r6: territorial. most likely winner of the day in my opinion, despite the negative rail draw. i'm hoping for the money to pur in on proud tower too, but i think territorial may go off favored, which dampens my enthusiasm considerably. territorial ran a huge race after breaking tardily and running on five wide in a tough state-bred maiden.
r8: house of fortune. i really think this is going to be a merry-go-round race with the two favorites, star parade and 'fortune running 1-2 around the track. elloluv looks like she's going the wrong way fast and the older parade is giving 6 pounds to the 3 year house of fortune and with 'fortune likely around 3/1, i'm playing her.
